All Private And Federal Schools Should Reopen on 13th July And Not September 2021

Students nationwide demand schools reopen as grief and impatience mount on them.

This is prior to the fact that schools nationwide had been closed for the past 4 months, and as such without any clue as regards the reopening.

Recall that the federal government had in March instructed the closure of schools and other sectors in the country due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.

Primary and Secondary Schools were deprived the right to finish their second term and with the current situation, they don't even have hope towards the commencement of their third term.

The current session can then be said to be inconclusive.

Moreso, students having external examinations (WAEC and NECO) are also affected with the outbreak as they are unable to commence their examination.

And with this, none of them will be able to use the result for what is needful... which is their admissions into tertiary institutions.

Varsity students too are yet to finish their semesters talkless of a session and up till now, majority find it difficult studying at home as the holiday seem indefinite.

Speaking about the private school teachers, these teachers now face difficulties as they are unable to afford feeding their families or maintaining their standard of living.

They've not been paid by the Government since there haven't been working.

And same goes to the private school owners.

They have also explained that they don't have any source of income, and as such, unable to cater for themselves.

Several news and updates has been reported and none seem to be in favour of the students, teachers and all stakeholders as they express themselves towards schools resumption.

Some parents and doctors even kicked against the reopening of schools for now, claiming they cannot endanger the lives of their wards.

Moreover, the federal government has claimed all hands are on deck towards the reopening of schools in the country, as all protocols and guidelines for the resumption are being worked on.

As of today, the total cases of COVID-19 is 20,244 and these cases demand for a 2nd lockdown.

In my opinion, schools reopening on 13th of July will be the only solution for the homesick students, teachers, and all stakeholders and the only avenue to make things right.

The academic session can still be amended and that's only if the federal government enables the resumption as at the speculated date.

Government claims they are working on measures for the reopening but this isn't effective at all.

For churches, market and other places to have been able to operate amidst the pandemic, it definitely means students can resume as well.
